From September 23 to 24, the EU-funded Border Management Programme in Central Asia (BOMCA 10) held a national workshop in Kyrgyzstan for first line officers dealing with the profiling of potential traffickers of human beings and of smugglers.
On September 23, the Border Management Programme in Central Asia completed its training of trainers (ToT) course for dog handling instructors specializing in the search for drugs. The 2nd round of ToT was organized within the framework of BOMCA Programme’s Component 2, “Improvement of detection capacities to counter cross-border crime”.
From September 19 to 20, the EU-funded Border Management Programme in Central Asia (BOMCA 10), held a national workshop in Bishkek for the officers from border and law enforcement agencies of Kyrgyzstan responsible for risk analysis and crime identification.
In Dushanbe, BOMCA 10 organised technical assistance (TA) on elaboration of Standard operational procedure for phytosanitary and veterinary (SPS) import control, gathering representatives of the Tajik SPS agencies responsible for the development and/or implementation of import controls.
From September 16 to 17, the EU-funded Border Management Programme in Central Asia (BOMCA 10), held a national workshop in Astana for officers from analytical units of border and law enforcement agencies of Kazakhstan responsible for risk analysis and crime identification.
On September 16, the EU-funded Border Management Programme in Central Asia organised a regional online workshop on profiling at border checkpoints.
The EU-funded Border Management Programme in Central Asia (BOMCA 10) held the third round of National Project Steering Group meetings (NSG) in Kyrgyzstan, in order to review the progress of its third implementation year and define plans for the final period of current phase. On September 12, a stakeholder meeting was held in Bishkek, gathering Kyrgyz national counterparts directly involved in the project’s implementation.
The EU-funded Border Management Programme in Central Asia (BOMCA 10) starts its National Steering Group meetings where jointly with the beneficiaries it reviews milestones reached in the past year as well as agrees on plans for the final year of implementation.
In Latvia, from September 3-5, the EU-funded Border Management Programme in Central Asia (BOMCA 10) organised a study visit on transit-related questions for the representatives of Customs Services in Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan and Turkmenistan, which are responsible for developing a national transit strategy/policy and have expertise in the field of application of the transit/TIR procedures in their countries.
