On 13 May in Osh, the EU-funded Border Management Programme in Central Asia (BOMCA 10) handed over computer equipment and information stands valued at EUR 6,860.70 to the Border training institutions of Kyrgyzstan.

The new equipment complements previous BOMCA 10 support by fully equipping document readers used to train border control officers in document verification. A total of 10 units of computer equipment were provided to the Centre for Advanced Training and Retraining of Military Personnel of the Border Service of the State Committee for National Security and the Department of Border Activities of the Military Institute of the Armed Forces of the Kyrgyz Republic. Additionally, 8 information stands were provided to the Training Centre of the Border Service.  The new equipment will allow classrooms to be fully equipped for effective document verification training and the implementation of cascade principles.

This support was provided under Component 1 of the BOMCA 10 Programme, which aims to strengthen the institutional capacities of border control agencies in Central Asia.
