BOMCA 10 strengthens anti-smuggling capacities of the Kyrgyz Customs Service

On 10 December, the EU-funded Border Management Programme in Central Asia (BOMCA 10) provided specialised equipment valued at EUR 9,718.03 to the State Customs Service under the Ministry of Finance of the Kyrgyz Republic during a handover ceremony in Bishkek.

BOMCA 10 enhances communication at customs posts of Turkmenistan

On 4 December, the EU-funded Border Management Programme in Central Asia (BOMCA 10) provided specialised communication equipment worth EUR 82,811 to the State Customs Service of Turkmenistan during a handover ceremony in Ashgabat. Received portable radio devices will enhance operational efficiency by ensuring seamless communication between headquarters, regional units and customs posts.

BOMCA 10 contributes to effective risk management in veterinary controls in Central Asia

On 3 – 5 December, the EU-funded Border Management Programme in Central Asia (BOMCA 10) organised a regional workshop on risk management integration into the process of veterinary control in Ashgabat, Turkmenistan. The activity gathered representatives of the veterinary agencies of Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan.

BOMCA 10 supports quality education and professional training of specialists in combating organised crime

The EU-funded Border Management Programme in Central Asia (BOMCA 10) provided top-edge equipment for the Almaty Academy of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan named after M. Esbulatov equipping one of the classes of the Training Centre for specialists in combating organised crime. The official handover ceremony took place in Almaty on 29 November 2024.

On 26 – 28 November, in Almaty, Kazakhstan BOMCA 10 hosted a Regional consortium workshop bringing together the heads of customs and border guard training institutions from Central Asian countries. The event focused on fostering collaboration, sharing innovative teaching methods, and integrating emerging technologies like artificial intelligence into educational processes.

BOMCA 10 supports development of standard operating procedure for phytosanitary and veterinary import control in Central Asian countries

On 20-22 November in Astana and 25-27 November in Bishkek, BOMCA 10 organized technical assistance mission on development of standard operating procedure for veterinary and phytosanitary import controls gathering representatives of veterinary and phytosanitary services of Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan.

BOMCA 10 enhances training capacities in border control procedures in Kyrgyzstan

On 19-20 November, the EU-funded Border Management Programme in Central Asia (BOMCA 10) handed over specialized equipment to the Border Service of the State Committee for National Security of the Kyrgyz Republic for a total of EUR 87,844. The received document verification devices, as well as computer and office equipment, are intended to equip the classroom of the Border Faculty of the Military Institute of the Armed Forces of the Kyrgyz Republic, as well as the Centre for Advanced Training and Retraining of Military Personnel of the Border Service of the State Committee for National Security of the Kyrgyz Republic.
