BOMCA 10 strengthens training capacities in Kyrgyzstan

On 28–30 April, the EU-funded Border Management Programme in Central Asia (BOMCA 10) organised a training on modern teaching methods.

The training brought together representatives of key state institutions of Kyrgyzstan, including Border Service (Center for Advanced Studies and Department of Border Activities), State Customs Service (Educational and Specialized Customs), Ministry of Internal Affairs (Academy and the Republican Training Center, as well as phytosanitary and veterinary control services. The intensive programme, led by BOMCA 10 expert Juliya Kazakova, introduced participants to modern teaching approaches and techniques aimed at increasing learner motivation and engagement. Particular attention was paid to international best practices in adult education, motivation theory, group dynamics and the structured design of learning environments. During the training, elements of gamification, peer evaluation and testing were applied. On the final day, participants delivered their own master-classes, demonstrating the integration of newly acquired knowledge.

This three day training was organised within the framework of Component 1, “Institutional Development of Border Control Agencies”, and aims to further develop and strengthen the institutional capacities of border control agencies in in applying best practices and standards.
