We are excited to announce Call for Applicants for the BOMCA 10 Boot Camp, funded by the European Union, aimed at strengthening the capacities of civil society organisations (CSOs) in Central Asia.
On 13-15 March in Ashgabat, the EU funded Border Management Programme in Central Asia (BOMCA10) held a practical training for staff of the Centre for Criminological Research of the Ministry of Internal Affairs on usage of 3D scanner. The aim of the workshop was to increase the capacities of the Centre in forensic investigation of cross border crimes by familiarising with one of the modern evidence collection tools.
From 4-6 March, the EU-funded Border Management Programme in Central Asia (BOMCA 10) organised a study visit Latvia on introduction of the national customs information systems for representatives of customs services from Central Asian countries.
On 4-6 March 2025, the Border Management Programme in Central Asia (BOMCA 10), which is funded by the European Union (EU), successfully conducted a regional workshop “Women for Development of Central Asian Border Regions” in Bukhara, Uzbekistan. This initiative underscores the EU's commitment to enhancing gender equality and empowering female professionals within state agencies across Central Asia.
On 20 February, the EU-funded Border Management Programme in Central Asia (BOMCA 10) held its fourth Regional Steering Group (RSG) meeting in Turkmenistan to review the ongoing progress and agree on plans for its final implementation year. The meeting took place in Ashgabat, bringing together representatives from the donor, implementing consortium of the programme, and national counterparts directly involved in the project’s implementation in each of five countries of Central Asia.
On 19 February, the State Customs Service of Turkmenistan in partnership with the EU-funded Border Management Programme in Central Asia (BOMCA 10) launches its first-ever mobile application, marking a significant milestone in modernising customs procedures across Turkmenistan and Central Asian region.
From 3 to 7 February 2025, Ashgabat hosted a national workshop on the development of Integrated Border Management Strategy and its Implementation Plan. Participants from Turkmenistan state institutions ensuring border security such us border and migration control, criminal intelligence and investigation, customs and phyto-veto control were familiarised with the advantages of an integrated approach to border security.
On 29 January, the EU-funded Border Management Programme in Central Asia (BOMCA 10) hosted a regional online lecture on customs valuation for representatives of the customs services of Central Asian countries, including specialists overseeing customs valuation practices and post-clearance checks.
On 11 December, the EU-funded Border Management Programme in Central Asia (BOMCA 10) provided essential equipment valued at EUR 9,736.45 to the State Customs Service of Turkmenistan in Ashgabat.
