On July 1, in Lithuania and Latvia, the Border Management Programme in Central Asia (BOMCA 10) started the second round of the 12-weeks Train – the – Trainers (ToT) training course for K9 instructors of five Central Asian countries. It is important to recall that these programme activities are aimed at improving dog handling instructors’ theoretical knowledge and practical skills for the training of dog handling teams and service dogs, used for daily border guarding, customs control and law enforcement tasks.
From July 9 to 11, the EU-funded Border Management Programme in Central Asia (BOMCA10) organised a study visit to the EU (Latvia) regarding implementation of border control procedures under EU requirements, including a demonstration of best practices of inter - agency cooperation mechanisms at various levels of command, as defined in the National IBM strategy of Latvia.
From July 9 to 10, the EU-funded Border Management Programme in Central Asia (BOMCA 10) organised a training on combating trafficking in human beings (THB) and providing support to victims for local self-government bodies and regional departments of the state agencies of Kyrgyzstan.
On July 1, in Latvia (Dog handling centre of the State Border Guard) and Lithuania (dog handling centre of the State Border Service), the Border Management Programme in Central Asia (BOMCA 10) launched the second round of the 12-week Train – the – Trainers (ToT) course for K9 instructors from five Central Asian countries. From June 24 to 28, the EU-funded Border Management Programme in Central Asia (BOMCA 10) organised a study visit to Lithuania and Poland for the management of the Border Guard Service of the State Committee for National Security of Kyrgyzstan. This programme activity was organized for the leading specialists of the Headquarters of the Border Guard Service, responsible for the planning and invention of the required elements for the national integrated management system.
The Border Management Programme in Central Asia (BOMCA 10) recently pre-selected 12 non-governmental organizations (NGOs) in all 5 Central Asian countries to implement projects in the region’s border areas, under the 2nd call for proposals.
From 24 to 26 June, the EU-funded Border Management Programme in Central Asia (BOMCA 10) organized training in Bishkek on leadership and management for the managerial level staff of the military personnel of the Border Service of the State Committee for National Security and employees of the State Customs Service under the Ministry of Finance of Kyrgyzstan.
On June 19, the Border Management Programme in Central Asia (BOMCA 10) officially handed over modern technical equipment to the auditorium of the Border Faculty of the Military Institute of the Armed Forces of Kyrgyzstan, accounting for a total value of 8,200.00 EUR.
