  • Thematic Component: 1. Institutional Development of Border Control Agencies
  • Country: Kyrgyzstan

On 4 September, the EU-funded Border Management Programme in Central Asia (BOMCA 10) handed over modern office furniture, ICT equipment and specialised software to establish a fully operational Situational Center to the The Border Service of the State Committee for National Security of the Kyrgyz Republic valued at EUR 329,428.60.

The Situational Center, equipped with modern technology and specialised software, will become a key element of the system for operational monitoring, analysis and coordination in response to crisis situations. It will function on a permanent basis and ensure cooperation between various government agencies within their areas of competence.

The use of modern equipment and operational data exchange and analysis system will improve the agency’s institutional and operational capacity. The Center will carry out organisational, coordination, analytical and information-technology functions, providing collection, systematisation and analysis of data to forecast and localise potential threats. This will not only allow for the timely identification of risks but also enable rapid response and informed decision-making based on current information.

This support was provided under Component 1 of the BOMCA 10 programme, which aims to strengthen the institutional capacities of border control agencies in Central Asia.
