BOMCA launched the second round of ToT for Central Asian K9 instructors in EU

On July 1, in Latvia (Dog handling centre of the State Border Guard) and Lithuania (dog handling centre of the State Border Service), the Border Management Programme in Central Asia (BOMCA 10) launched the second round of the 12-week Train – the – Trainers (ToT) course for K9 instructors from five Central Asian countries. These programme activities are aimed at improving dog handling instructors’ theoretical knowledge and practical skills for the training of dog handling teams and service dogs, used for daily border guarding and law enforcement tasks.

The Border Management Programme in Central Asia (BOMCA 10) recently pre-selected 12 non-governmental organizations (NGOs) in all 5 Central Asian countries to implement projects in the region’s border areas, under the 2nd call for proposals.

Border management programme organised study visit to Italy on gender balance

From June 3 to 7, the EU-funded Border Management Programme in Central Asia (BOMCA 10) organised a study visit to Italy for the employees of the state agencies of Uzbekistan, working on the topic of gender equality and gender balance within their respective agencies.

Uzbek Border Guard Forces of the State Security Service received equipment to ensure permanent power supply at border control facilities

Uzbek veterinary control agency received equipment for the operational inspections at border checkpoints

BOMCA 10 organised training on communications and psychological support for Mahallas in border areas of Uzbekistan

Employees of the Mahalla committees of Uzbekistan provide timely support to vulnerable groups among the residents of border areas. Thus, effective communication skills and knowledge of the basics of psychological first aid are necessary competencies for employees of Mahallas.

BOMCA contributes to the digitalisation and optimisation of customs processes in Uzbekistan

From May 15 to 17, the EU-funded Border Management Programme in Central Asia (BOMCA 10) organised a technical assistance mission in Tashkent, in the form of a national workshop for the representatives of the State Customs Committee of Uzbekistan. The workshop was devoted to enhancing customs processes and e-services, related to the electronic submission and processing of customs documents, as well as the development of the “single window”.
