BOMCA 11 Strengthens Women's Participation and Gender-Responsive Cross-Border Cooperation in Central Asia

From 22 to 23 July 2026, the EU-funded Border Management Programme in Central Asia (BOMCA 11) organised a regional workshop in Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan, bringing together female representatives of state institutions responsible for gender policies and gender mainstreaming from across Central Asia. The workshop focused on strengthening women's participation and promoting gender-responsive approaches to cross-border cooperation.

Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Turkmenistan Exchanged Good Practices on Youth Engagement in Trafficking Prevention

From 16 to 17 June 2026, the EU-funded Border Management Programme in Central Asia (BOMCA 11) organised a regional workshop in Astana, Kazakhstan, bringing together representatives of state authorities and civil society organisations from Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Turkmenistan to strengthen cooperation on preventing trafficking in human beings (THB), promoting safe migration, countering radicalisation and enhancing youth engagement in border regions.

Between 30 March and 22 April 2026, the Border Management Programme in Central Asia – Phase 11 (BOMCA 11) conducted the first round of National Steering Group meetings across Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan.
