From March 4 to 5, the EU-funded Border Management Programme in Central Asia (BOMCA 10), in a partnership with the Law Enforcement in Central Asia Project (LEICA), holds a national seminar in Tajikistan for first line officers dealing with the profiling of potential traffickers of human beings and of smugglers.
From February 29 to March 1, the EU-funded Border Management Programme in Central Asia (BOMCA 10) organised a study visit to Uzbekistan on external labour migration management for the Ministry of Labour, Migration and Employment of Population of Tajikistan.
From 20 to 22 February, the EU-funded Border Management Programme in Central Asia (BOMCA 10) held a national workshop in Dushanbe on innovative principles and methods in risk management and green channels for the experts of the Customs Administration of Tajikistan.
From February 13 to 16, BOMCA10, in partnership with the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE), held a national Training of Trainers (ToT) session on document security (basic level) in Tajikistan.
On February 9, BOMCA Programme officially handed over ICT equipment and sets of inspection tools to the Department of the Committee on the State Border and the Transport of Food Security Committee under the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan, accounting for a total value of 9,330.00 EUR.
On February 5, 2024, the EU-funded BOMCA 10 programme held an online lecture on post-clearance checks and customs auditing.
Local authorities are the first contact points for the border areas population in address any issues. Therefore, the BOMCA Programme and its Component 4 have been supporting local authorities in further building up their communication skills.
The EU-funded Border Management Programme in Central Asia (BOMCA 10) officially handed over specialised software and equipment to the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Tajikistan, accounting for a total value of EUR 96 192.00.
In cooperation with the State Customs Committee under the Ministry of Economy and Finance of Uzbekistan, the EU-funded BOMCA 10 Programme organised a joint webinar series which aimed to promote gender equality and enhance gender mainstreaming in customs management, as well as strengthening women leadership in the customs agencies of Central Asian countries.
