Effective Communication: A Handbook for Local Self-Government Authorities in the Border Regions of Central Asian Countries

BOMCA 10 supports Central Asian customs agencies in promotion of gender equality and gender mainstreaming in customs management

In cooperation with the State Customs Committee under the Ministry of Economy and Finance of Uzbekistan, the EU-funded BOMCA 10 Programme organised a joint webinar series which aimed to promote gender equality and enhance gender mainstreaming in customs management, as well as strengthening women leadership in the customs agencies of Central Asian countries.

Increased role of women, community members and civil society in addressing radicalisation in Tajikistan, Uzbekistan and Turkmenistan

Some 35 participants, officials from international and regional organisations, international experts, as well as  representatives of civil society and relevant government agencies from Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan attended the workshop “Law Enforcement Agencies Cooperation with Civil Society in the protection of Children and the Engagement of Women in Countering Violent Extremism” and shared their insights on early detection of radicalisation and protection of minors from violent extremism. The workshop took place in Dushanbe, Tajikistan, on 20-22 November 2023, and was jointly organised with Law enforcement programme in Central Asia (LEICA).

Further strategic actions within the EU funded border management programme in Central Asia discussed in Tashkent

Funded by the European Union Border Management Programme in Central Asia (BOMCA 10) held the third Regional Steering Group (RSG) meeting. This event serves as a steering instrument of the programme, which defines and monitors the strategic direction of the programme implementation. RSG held in Tashkent on November 14 and gathered donor, an implementing consortium and regional counterparts directly involved in the project’s implementation.

EU-funded programme keeps improving the educational and training processes of border and customs services in Central Asian region

BOMCA and CADAP Anniversary photo contest winners in Tajikistan

On October 31, the award ceremony for the photo contest, “Building a Healthy and Secure Future in a Peaceful Environment”, was held in Tajikistan with the participation of the European Union Delegation to Tajikistan, BOMCA and CADAP Programmes. The competition was dedicated to the 20th Anniversary of BOMCA and CADAP and was announced in August 2023.

BOMCA announces a 2nd Call for Proposals for Central Asian nonprofits to improve living conditions of the border communities

The Border Management Programme in Central Asia Phase 10 (BOMCA 10) hereby announces its 2nd Call for Proposals for the non-profit civil society and non-governmental organisations from Central Asia to support border populations. The overall indicative amount made available under this Call for Proposals is EUR 660,000. The requested grant amount is EUR 45,000 – EUR 60,000, while the deadline for applications is 19 November 2023, 17:00 CET.
