BOMCA 10 keeps improving phyto – sanitary and veterinary checks at border crossing points in Tajikistan

On February 9, BOMCA Programme officially handed over ICT equipment and sets of inspection tools to the Department of the Committee on the State Border and the Transport of Food Security Committee under the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan, accounting for a total value of 9,330.00 EUR.

In particular, the Department received universal inspection sets containing specific tools, as well as modern equipment to control the temperature of transported goods, which will allow to detect various types of irregularities whilst performing phyto – sanitary and veterinary controls directly at state borders.

In addition, the EU-funded programme handed over computer, LCD projector and manual projector screens to equip the training class at the HQ of the Department, therefore ensuring sustainable training opportunities, including distance learning approaches.

These assets were purchased in the framework of the BOMCA 10 Component 3, “Facilitation of trade”, under the 6th specific expected results – improved customs, phyto – sanitary and veterinary checks.
