In Kazakhstan, EU-funded programme equipped Border service regional training centre with modern equipment

On July 4, the Border Management Programme in Central Asia (BOMCA 10) officially handed over modern technical equipment to the Training Center of the Border Service of the National Security Committee of Kazakhstan, accounting for a total value of 59,105.00 EUR.

BOMCA launched the second round of ToT for Central Asian K9 instructors in EU

On July 1, in Latvia (Dog handling centre of the State Border Guard) and Lithuania (dog handling centre of the State Border Service), the Border Management Programme in Central Asia (BOMCA 10) launched the second round of the 12-week Train – the – Trainers (ToT) course for K9 instructors from five Central Asian countries. These programme activities are aimed at improving dog handling instructors’ theoretical knowledge and practical skills for the training of dog handling teams and service dogs, used for daily border guarding and law enforcement tasks.

The Border Management Programme in Central Asia (BOMCA 10) recently pre-selected 12 non-governmental organizations (NGOs) in all 5 Central Asian countries to implement projects in the region’s border areas, under the 2nd call for proposals.

BOMCA and OSCE organised a training on countering human trafficking using modern technologies in Kazakhstan

From May 28 to 30, in Almaty, in cooperation with the OSCE, BOMCA 10 organised a training session on countering trafficking in human beings, through applying modern digital tools by the Training Academy of the Ministry of the Interior of Kazakhstan. The training session was organised in the framework of the Programme’s Component 4, aimed at improvement of cross-border cooperation, with the focus on advancing human rights and support to vulnerable groups, such as victims of human trafficking, amongst other issues.

In Kazakhstan BOMCA 10 advanced training of officers working on THB cases in the border regions

Border areas often serve as strategic locations for human traffickers due to their geographical proximity to other countries, making it easier to move victims across borders undetected. From 29 to 30 April, the EU-funded Border Management programme in Central Asia (BOMCA 10) supported online lectures for the Kazakh Ministry of Interior, enabling sharing of knowledge on THB for officers working on combating trafficking in human beings in the Kazakh border regions.

Border management programme organised Study visit to Austria on anti-trafficking

From April 17 to 19, the EU-funded Border Management Programme in Central Asia (BOMCA 10) organised a study visit to Austria for the Kazakh Ministry of the Interior (MoI) experts responsible for anti-trafficking, as well as the teaching staff of MoI.

BOMCA supports enhancement of control procedures at Central Asian borders

On April 12, the EU-funded Border Management Programme in Central Asia (BOMCA 10) officially handed over specialised equipment to the State Agro-Industrial Complex Inspection Committee and Veterinary Surveillance Committee of the Ministry of Agriculture of Kazakhstan. The total value of the transferred equipment amounted to 33,967.36 EUR.
