BOMCA keeps building capacity in the area of document security of Turkmen migration and border management personnel

From 5 to 7 July, the EU-funded Border Management Programme in Central Asia (BOMCA 10) in partnership with the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE) held the second national training of trainers (ToT, basic level) on document security for the officers and teaching staff of the State Migration Service and the State Frontier Service of Turkmenistan.

EU-funded Programme held a Regional workshop on establishing a framework of customs competencies

BOMCA 10 keeps strengthening the investigation capacities of investigators in the field of cross-border crimes

From 22 to 24 May, the EU-funded Border Management Programme in Central Asia (BOMCA 10), in partnership with the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime, organised a national workshop in Ashgabat for investigators and crime intelligence officers specialised in investigation of trafficking in human beings and migrant smuggling. This is the fifth and final workshop of its kind conducted by the BOMCA Programme in the Central Asian region - following similar activities in Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan. Thus, this activity closes a series of workshops on this topic in the region.

Turkmen customs officers studied Kazakhstan’s experience in customs risk management and WTO commitments

From May 3 to 5, the EU-funded Border Management Programme in Central Asia (BOMCA 10) in cooperation with USAID’s Trade Central Asia Activity (TCA) held a national seminar in Ashgabat for customs officers involved in risk management, countering of customs violations, automatization of customs procedures.

The results of Anniversary drawing contest among the children in Turkmenistan

In May 1 the Award Ceremony for the drawing contest “Friendship across the borders” was held in Turkmenistan with participation of European Union Delegation, BOMCA and CADAP Programmes. The competition was announced in April, and children aged 8-12 y.o. were invited to present their vision on friendship and border guards’ issues in an artistic way.
