Further strategic actions within the EU funded border management programme in Central Asia discussed in Tashkent

Funded by the European Union Border Management Programme in Central Asia (BOMCA 10) held the third Regional Steering Group (RSG) meeting. This event serves as a steering instrument of the programme, which defines and monitors the strategic direction of the programme implementation. RSG held in Tashkent on November 14 and gathered donor, an implementing consortium and regional counterparts directly involved in the project’s implementation.

Uzbek Customs Committee received equipment to strengthen control procedures in the field of transit of goods

On November 13, the Border Management Programme in Central Asia (BOMCA 10) officially handed over specialised equipment to the Customs Committee under the Ministry of Economy and Finance of Uzbekistan, accounting for a total value of EUR 9,986.

EU-funded programme keeps improving the educational and training processes of border and customs services in Central Asian region

From October 31 to November 2, the EU-funded Border Management Programme in Central Asia (BOMCA 10) organised a Regional consortium workshop for the heads of customs and border guard services’ training institutions from Central Asian countries.

BOMCA announces a 2nd Call for Proposals for Central Asian nonprofits to improve living conditions of the border communities

The Border Management Programme in Central Asia Phase 10 (BOMCA 10) hereby announces its 2nd Call for Proposals for the non-profit civil society and non-governmental organisations from Central Asia to support border populations. The overall indicative amount made available under this Call for Proposals is EUR 660,000. The requested grant amount is EUR 45,000 – EUR 60,000, while the deadline for applications is 19 November 2023, 17:00 CET. NSG meetings continue in other countries of the CA region

The EU-funded Border Management Programme in Central Asia (BOMCA 10) held the second round of National Project Steering Group meetings (NSG) in Uzbekistan, in order to review the progress of its second implementation year and define plans for the upcoming period. On October 02, a stakeholder meeting was held in Tashkent, gathering Uzbek national counterparts directly involved in the project’s implementation.

Uzbek LEA officers have been familiarised with EU approach and methods of investigation of organised cross-border crime
