BOMCA contributes to the digitalisation and optimisation of customs processes in Turkmenistan

From November 29 to December 1 the Border Management Programme in Central Asia (BOMCA 10) organised a technical assistance mission to Ashgabat, in the form of a national workshop for the representatives and “single window” coordinators of the State Customs Service of Turkmenistan. The workshop was devoted to enhancing of customs processes and e-services, related to the electronic submission and processing of customs documents, as well as the development of the “single window”.

BOMCA 10 assists the Central Asian Phytosanitary agencies in the effective application of IPPC standards

From 22 to 24 November 2022, the Border Management Programme in Central Asia (BOMCA 10) held a regional workshop with elements of the Training of Trainers methodology (ToT) on the alignment of national plant legislation with the provisions of the International Plant Protection Convention (IPPC) requirements for representatives of phytosanitary agencies, and agencies which are involved in the implementation of IPPC standards in import/export controls.

EU flagship initiative Border Management Programme in Central Asia holds 2nd Regional Steering Group meeting

On 23 November, the Border Management Programme in Central Asia – phase 10 (BOMCA 10) held its 2nd Regional Steering Group (RSG) meeting. This event serves as a steering instrument of the programme, which defines and monitors the strategic direction of the programme implementation.

Strategic risk analysis of the law enforcement agencies in Turkmenistan strengthened by EU expertise

From 16-18 November 2022, the Border Management Programme in Central Asia (BOMCA 10) held a workshop in Ashgabat on strategic risk analysis for representatives of the law enforcement agencies engaged in the border management of Turkmenistan. The workshop aimed to familiarise participants with the principles and methodology of the Common Integrated Risk Analysis Model (CIRAM) used in the European Union (EU) and provided information on a systematic approach to data collection and analysis.

Turkmen Customs academic staff learn from peer-to-peer traineeships in Latvia

Turkmen K-9 units strengthened by training on European standards

EU-funded Programme imparts technical assistance on analysis of customs legislation in transit areas in Turkmenistan

From October 25 to 27, the Border Management Programme in Central Asia (BOMCA 10) organised a technical assistance mission in the form of a meeting on analysis of the current customs legislation in the transit area, gathering experts from the European Union member states and Turkmen national experts in the development of a national transit declaration/control system.
