Turkmen K-9 units strengthened by training on European standards

From November 01-03, the Border Management Programme in Central Asia (BOMCA 10) held a national workshop in Ashgabat for experts of the State Border Service and State Customs Service of Turkmenistan, improving the K-9 service work and training system of Turkmen law enforcement agencies.

EU-funded Programme imparts technical assistance on analysis of customs legislation in transit areas in Turkmenistan

From October 25 to 27, the Border Management Programme in Central Asia (BOMCA 10) organised a technical assistance mission in the form of a meeting on analysis of the current customs legislation in the transit area, gathering experts from the European Union member states and Turkmen national experts in the development of a national transit declaration/control system.

BOMCA 10 held Regional workshop on the alignment of national legislation with the provisions of HACCP standards

From October 18 to 20, the Border Management Programme in Central Asia held a regional workshop, focusing on  elements of the Training of Trainer (ToT) methodology on the alignment of national legislation with the provisions of HACCP standards, FAO/WHO’s Codex Alimentarius/” Food Code” requirements, and preparation for the accession to and/or implementing those standards.

EU-funded Programme handed equipment to the national authorities of Turkmenistan

On 19 October the Border Management Programme in Central Asia (BOMCA10) officially handed over various assets to the State Frontier Service, State Customs Service and State Veterinary Service of the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment Protection of Turkmenistan. The total value is 19 263 EUR.

EU-funded project on border management reviews its achievements in Turkmenistan for 2022

From October 18-19, 2022, in Ashgabat, Turkmenistan, the Border Management Programme in Central Asia – Phase 10 (BOMCA 10) held the first round of its National Project Steering Group (NSG). The meeting was aimed at reviewing the Programme’s progress for the year and to define plans for the upcoming period. For this purpose, the Programme’s leadership, representatives of the European Union and implementing partners met with the key partners, such as state agencies and international organisations.

BOMCA 10 held a Regional workshop on the development of manual for Central Asian border control agencies

From October 17 to 19, BOMCA 10 held a Regional workshop on the development of Manual for border control for the representatives of Border Agencies of the Central Asian countries and the Migration Service of Turkmenistan.

This workshop promoted a provision of European Union practice on the organisation of border control at border control points (BCP) including document checks at the 1st line of control - elaboration of Manual for border control for use in Central Asian countries.

K9 trainers from Central Asia completed ToT in Latvia

On October 14, at the Canine Center of the State Border Guard College of Latvia, the closing ceremony took place of the training course for specialists in the field of cynology (training for instructors) for five countries in Central Asia - Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan and Tajikistan. This training course was organized under Component 2 of BOMCA  10 “Improvement of detection capacities”.
