EU-funded programme keeps improving the educational and training processes of border and customs services in Central Asian region

From October 31 to November 2, the EU-funded Border Management Programme in Central Asia (BOMCA 10) organised a Regional consortium workshop for the heads of customs and border guard services’ training institutions from Central Asian countries.

BOMCA 10 finalised the series of monitoring meetings in Central Asian region in 2023

The EU-funded Border Management Programme in Central Asia (BOMCA 10) held the second round of its National Project Steering Group meetings in Turkmenistan, in order to review the progress of its second implementation year and define plans for the upcoming period. On October 18, a meeting was held in Ashgabat, gathering national counterparts directly involved in the project’s implementation.

BOMCA announces a 2nd Call for Proposals for Central Asian nonprofits to improve living conditions of the border communities

The Border Management Programme in Central Asia Phase 10 (BOMCA 10) hereby announces its 2nd Call for Proposals for the non-profit civil society and non-governmental organisations from Central Asia to support border populations. The overall indicative amount made available under this Call for Proposals is EUR 660,000. The requested grant amount is EUR 45,000 – EUR 60,000, while the deadline for applications is 19 November 2023, 17:00 CET. EU-funded programme continues enhancing intra-agency cooperation among sanitary and phytosanitary agencies in Central Asia

From October 3 to 5, BOMCA organised Regional workshop on updating of the Agreement on Plant Quarantine Cooperation, which aimed to enhance intra-agency cooperation and information exchange among sanitary and phytosanitary agencies. Specifically, it analysed and proposed recommended actions to the agreement concluded between the governments of Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan in 2000.

EU-funded Programme supports forensic units of Turkmenistan with photo and video cameras

On July 28, the EU funded Border Management Programme in Central Asia (BOMCA10) officially handed over photo and video cameras to the Forensic Unit of the Main Investigation Department of the General Prosecutor’s Office of Turkmenistan, accounting for a total value of 9,874 EUR.

BOMCA 10 supports phyto-sanitary service of Turkmenistan with special set of tools for inspectors

BOMCA 10 contributes to assurance of legal guarantees and human rights protection in the law enforcement systems in Turkmenistan

From July 17 to 18, the EU-funded Border Management Programme in Central Asia (BOMCA 10) held a workshop in Ashgabat for officers of border agencies (BG) and law enforcement agencies (LEA) of Turkmenistan on human rights, gender, eliminating sexual harassment, and gender sensitivity.

From 11 to 13 July, the EU-funded Border Management Programme in Central Asia (BOMCA 10) held a training-of-trainers (ToT) session on car and truck searches for the State Customs Service and the State Frontier Service of Turkmenistan, which is responsible for organising the training process and development of the methodology for inspecting vehicles.
