Seminar on classification of goods in accordance with the Harmonized commodity description and coding system implemented in Turkmenistan

In Ashgabat, on August 21-23, the EU-funded Border Management Programme in Central Asia (BOMCA 10) jointly with USAID TCA organised seminar on classification of goods in accordance with the Harmonized Commodity Description and Coding System, developed by WCO.

CA NGOs started implementation of projects aimed at improvement of living conditions in the border areas with the overall funding of almost 635 000 EUR

Following the established good practice of cooperation with the NGOs from Central Asia and based on the results of a highly competitive selection process, BOMCA selected and provided EU funding to 12 projects in the framework of its second Call for Proposals.

BOMCA supported getting diagnostic protocols and handed over training equipment to the State service on plant quarantine of Turkmenistan

On July 25th, the EU-funded Border Management Programme in Central Asia (BOMCA 10) officially handed over EPPO Diagnostic Protocols and training equipment to the State service on plant quarantine of the Ministry of Agriculture of Turkmenistan, accounting for a total value of 10 037,60 EUR.

BOMCA 10 officially launched the 2nd round of ToT training in searching of weapons, ammunition, explosives, and drugs

On July 1, in Lithuania and Latvia, the Border Management Programme in Central Asia (BOMCA 10) started the second round of the 12-weeks Train – the – Trainers (ToT) training course for K9 instructors of five Central Asian countries. It is important to recall that these programme activities are aimed at improving dog handling instructors’ theoretical knowledge and practical skills for the training of dog handling teams and service dogs, used for daily border guarding, customs control and law enforcement tasks.

BOMCA organised Study visit to Latvia on implementation of border control procedures in line with EU requirements

From July 9 to 11, the EU-funded Border Management Programme in Central Asia (BOMCA10) organised a study visit to the EU (Latvia) regarding implementation of border control procedures under EU requirements, including a demonstration of best practices of inter - agency cooperation mechanisms at various levels of command, as defined in the National IBM strategy of Latvia.

BOMCA launched the second round of ToT for Central Asian K9 instructors in EU

On July 1, in Latvia (Dog handling centre of the State Border Guard) and Lithuania (dog handling centre of the State Border Service), the Border Management Programme in Central Asia (BOMCA 10) launched the second round of the 12-week Train – the – Trainers (ToT) course for K9 instructors from five Central Asian countries.
