BOMCA 10 enhances operational capabilities and supports training opportunities by providing ICT and communication equipment to Uzbekistan border agencies

On February 20, BOMCA Programme officially handed over ICT and communications equipment to the Customs Committee under the Ministry of Economy and Finance and Committee of Veterinary and Livestock Development under the Ministry of Agriculture of Uzbekistan. The total value of the transferred equipment amounted to 44,539.32 EUR.

From 14 to 16 February, the EU funded Border Management Programme in Central Asia (BOMCA 10) held a national workshop in Ashgabat on innovative principles and methods in risk management and green channels for national experts of the State Customs Service of Turkmenistan in the field of development and implementation of risk management strategies and measures.

Ideas and recommendations elaborated on cooperation between law enforcement sector and civil society to protect children and engage women in preventing violent extremism

Some 35 participants, officials from international and regional organisations, international experts, as well as representatives of civil society and relevant government agencies from Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan attended the workshop “Law enforcement agencies and civil society to prevent violent extremism”, and shared their insights and lessons learned on cooperation to enhance the detection and prevention of violent radicalization. The workshop took place in Almaty, Kazakhstan, on 14-16 February 2024, and was jointly organised by BOMCA and LEICA (Law Enforcement Programme in Central Asia).

BOMCA 10 keeps improving phyto – sanitary and veterinary checks at border crossing points in Tajikistan

From February 7 to 9, during the Workshop on Effective Communication in Ashgabat, the EU funded BOMCA 10 Programme presented the pilot version of the Mobile Application developed in cooperation with the State Customs Service of Turkmenistan for the Working Group members and the State Customs Service representatives working in the regions, including border areas.
