Border officers from Tajikistan improved their skills in the field of cynology, focusing on searches for explosives, drugs, arms and ammunition

A three-day national training course on modern methods of training dog handlers and instructors of the institutes and training centers from the Border Troops and Drug Control Agency, under the President of Tajikistan, was held in Dushanbe from 2-4 April, 2024.

This programme activity aimed to improve the knowledge and skills of K9 specialists of Border Troops of the State Committee on National Security of the Republic of Tajikistan and Drug Control Agency, under the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, in modern training methods in searching for explosives, drugs, arms, and ammunition.

A certified K9 trainer from the Border Service of the National Security Committee of Kazakhstan shared with participants theoretical knowledge and practical skills i. a. knowledge gained during a three months BOMCA10 organized Train the Trainers session in the European Union (Lithuania) in 2022, within the framework of Programme’s Component 2  - improvement of detection and investigation of cross-border crime capabilities.
