Customs, veterinary and phytosanitary institutions of Kazakhstan enhance their e-learning capacities

From November 16 to 18, the Border Management Programme in Central Asia (BOMCA 10) held a workshop in Astana for the personnel of border agencies and training institutions responsible for the development of methodology/teaching tools in such areas as e-learning, distance learning etc.

From November 9 to 11, the Border Management Programme in Central Asia (BOMCA 10) held a regional workshop for the heads of investigation units of the law enforcement agencies, and representatives of the prosecutors’ offices from Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan.

From November 1 to 3, 2022, the Border Management Program in Central Asia (BOMCA 10) held a regional workshop with elements of training of trainers (ToT) methodology for the phytosanitary and veterinary agencies of Central Asian countries, involved in the implementation of World Organisation for Animal Health (OIE) standards in import/export controls.

From October 18 to 20, the Border Management Programme in Central Asia held a regional workshop, focusing on  elements of the Training of Trainer (ToT) methodology on the alignment of national legislation with the provisions of HACCP standards, FAO/WHO’s Codex Alimentarius/” Food Code” requirements, and preparation for the accession to and/or implementing those standards.

BOMCA 10 held a Regional workshop on the development of manual for Central Asian border control agencies

From October 17 to 19, BOMCA 10 held a Regional workshop on the development of Manual for border control for the representatives of Border Agencies of the Central Asian countries and the Migration Service of Turkmenistan.

This workshop promoted a provision of European Union practice on the organisation of border control at border control points (BCP) including document checks at the 1st line of control - elaboration of Manual for border control for use in Central Asian countries.

K9 trainers from Central Asia completed ToT in Latvia

On October 14, at the Canine Center of the State Border Guard College of Latvia, the closing ceremony took place of the training course for specialists in the field of cynology (training for instructors) for five countries in Central Asia - Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan and Tajikistan. This training course was organized under Component 2 of BOMCA  10 “Improvement of detection capacities”.

EU-funded Programme builds capacity in the area of document security of border management and customs personnel in Kazakhstan

From October 11 to 14, the Border Management Programme in Central Asia BOMCA 10, in partnership with the European Border and Coast Guard Agency (FRONTEX), and the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE) held a national training of trainers (ToT) on document security (basic level).

From 27 to 29 September 2022, the EU-funded Border Management Programme in Central Asia held a regional workshop in Riga, Latvia on the recognition of anomalies in X-ray images for freight transport on land borders for custom officials of Central Asian countries.

BOMCA contributes to the digitalisation and optimisation of customs services in Kazakhstan and Tajikistan

From September 21 to 23 in Tajikistan and from September 26 to 28 in Kazakhstan BOMCA 10 held national workshop followed by technical assistance on the improvement of customs processes and e-services, related to electronic submission and processing of customs documents, as well as the development of a “single window” in Central Asian countries.
