BOMCA and its national partners wrapping up the year and making plans for the future

BOMCA launched a new round of National Steering Group meetings. The series of five meetings in Central Asia countries began in Ashgabat (Turkmenistan) on September 13, continues in Dushanbe (Tajikistan) on 23 September, Tashkent (Uzbekistan) on 26 September, Nur – Sultan (Kazakhstan) on 30 September and will terminate in Bishkek (Kyrgyzstan) on October 03, 2019.

Transfer of printing device for Higher Border Institute of Tajikistan

The BOMCA program purchased and transferred to the Higher Border Institute of the Border Troops of Tajikistan the multifunctional printing device XEROX WC 7845.Wide capabilities of this modern device (printing, scanning, copying in several formats, as well as a stapling) will optimize and modernize the methodological work and the educational process as such, promptly providing teachers and students with handouts, methodological printouts , newsletters, brochures and other printed materials, which can now be produced / duplicated within the Institute.

Handover of the equipment for Customs Service of Tajikistan

23 September 2019

On 23rd September 2019 in Dushanbe , a ceremony of transfer of equipment purchased by BOMCA program for Customs Service of Tajikistan was held. Technical capacities of Customs Service of Tajikistan were strengthened by computers and printing devices with a total cost of 10,000 euros. The purchased technics will strengthen the capacities of Customs Service technical equipment in customs check points, which will contribute to improvement the quality and efficiency of customs control.

Best strategies of reintegration of migrants were discussed during regional workshop in Nur-Sultan

Regional workshop on strategies of reintegration of migrants was held in Nur-Sultan, Kazakhstan on 17-19 September. The event, facilitated by experts of International Center on Migration Policy Development (ICMPD), gathered 20 representatives from the agencies dealing with migration (Ministries of Foreign Affairs, Ministries of Interior, Migration Services) from Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan.

BOMCA supports Kyrgyz Customs in digitalization of working processes

24 August 2019

On August 22 at the Central Office of the State Customs Service under the Government of the Kyrgyz Republic, the handover ceremony of video equipment was held, purchased by BOMCA program for a total amount of 23,256 euros. CCTV systems - multi-channel video recorders, indoor and outdoor video cameras, hard drives , uninterruptible power supplies and other components will be installed at «Severnaya» customs clearance point.

Handover of the equipment to the State Border Service of Kyrgyzstan

20 August 2019

7 sets of video surveillance stations, including 56 portable video recorders, were purchased by the BOMCA Program for the State Border Service of Kyrgyzstan. Today, on August 20, a ceremony of equipment transfer took place in headquarters of the State Border Service in Bishkek.

Transfer of the equipment to Uzbek Border Troops

6 August 2019

On 6th of August in Tashkent , a ceremony of transfer of equipment purchased by BOMCA program for Border Troops of Uzbekistan was held. BOMCA transferred 40 sets of compact document authenticity control devices Regula 1025 and 15 small-sized desktop document readers 15 Regula 7024M.111. Using these devices will allow border guards to detect signs of fake security elements, to automatically read and verify the authenticity of passports, ID cards, driver's licenses, visas and other documents.

Studying European experience in the field of human resources, financial management and control

27 July 2019

Between 23 and 26 July 2019, a study visit to Latvia was held for the border guard, customs, and phytosanitary and veterinary services of Tajikistan and Turkmenistan. It continued the national workshops on HR and finance planning which have been conducted in 2016 and 2017. Based on the training needs revealed during the national workshops, national partners took part in the visit and expanded their knowledge and skills in the area of proper HR management and financial planning and control.
