National workshop on EU standards on identification, detention and return of irregular migrants

National workshop on EU standards on identification, detention and return of irregular migrants was held in Nur-Sultan on July 16-18. The event was a mixture of a workshop and round-table discussions between the European and national experts working on the issue of identification, detention and return of irregular migrants.

Tajikistan and Turkmenistan customs authorities move towards advanced trade facilitating procedures

5 July 2019

Taking into the account that proper customs affairs functioning is one of the most important preconditions for the trade facilitation, a bilateral workshop for customs representatives of Tajikistan and Turkmenistan targeting issues of customs value, tariff classification and origin of goods was held in Dushanbe on July 03-05.

Kyrgyz border guards attended webinar on detection of fraudulent documents

On June 19-20, 2019 a webinar was held for border guards of Kyrgyzstan on the identification of fraudulent documents. The webinar was attended by 15 trainers and students of the Center of Advanced Studies of the State Border Service of the Kyrgyz Republic, the Department of Border Activities of the Military Institute of the Armed Forces of the Kyrgyz Republic, as well as representatives of the central office and regional offices, conducting in-depth check and verification of documents.

Equipment of English-language classroom in the Military Gimnasium of the Border Troops of Tajikistan

13 June 2019

Upon the request of the Border Troops of Tajikistan, BOMCA equipped an English class in new military gimnasium of the Border Troops. The classroom was equipped with a full set of furniture, a set of IT equipment (interactive board, laptop, projector), linguistic equipment with software and literature for studying English language (books and dictionaries for teachers and students). The equipping the audience will strengthen the technical and methodological potential of the gymnasium and modernize the process of training of future border guards in accordance with international standards.

Strengthening risk analysis system in Uzbekistan

On May 28-31, a series of expert consultations on risk analysis and development of new anti- smuggling tools were held in Tashkent, Uzbekistan. A group of BOMCA experts - customs forensic specialists from the Ministry of Finance of Lithuania arrived in Uzbekistan to assess the existing risk management system at Uzbekistan’s customs and its compliance with international practices and standards, and to develop recommendations for further development and improvement of the system.

Technical consultative mission on in the field of Implementation of TFA Action Plan (Trade Facilitation Agreement) was held in Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan on May 20-23. Experts of the Customs Department of the Ministry of Finance of Lithuania hold a number of consultations with Kyrgyz customs regarding the implementation of TFA Action Plan, namely, its articles on studying international experience and analyzing current legislation on border cooperation , customs cooperation and information exchange.

Workshop on Prevention and Detection of Illegal Trafficking of Goods and Means of Transport

18 May 2019

On May 14 -16 a three-day bilateral workshop was held in Kuryk sea port in Aktau, Kazakhstan aimed to improve the practical skills of customs authorities of Kazakhstan and Turkmenistan in the area of prevention and detection of illegal trafficking of goods and means of transport. The event was organized in cooperation with United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) and was facilitated by BOMCA experts from Customs Department under the Ministry of Finance of Lithiania.
