BOMCA held ToT session on car and truck search for Kyrgyz customs service

From 20 to 22 February, the Border Management Programme in Central Asia (BOMCA 10) held a training of trainers (ToT) session on car and truck searches in Bishkek. This activity targeted representatives of the Border Service of the State Committee on National Security and State Customs Service under the Ministry of Finance of Kyrgyzstan, which is responsible for organising the training process and development of the methodology for inspecting vehicles.

BOMCA continues to strengthen training capacities of Kazakh customs officers on vehicle searches

From 15 to 17 February, the Border Management Programme in Central Asia (BOMCA 10) held a training of trainers (ToT) on car and truck searches in Almaty. This activity targeted representatives of the customs and border guard agencies responsible for organising the training process and development of the methodology for inspecting vehicles in Kazakhstan.

EU-funded Programme held online workshop on illegal migration from Afghanistan

On February 14, 2023 the Border Management Programme in Central Asia (BOMCA 10) held a regional online workshop in Dushanbe on distance learning about border management in Tajikistan and countering irregular migration from Afghanistan for representatives of the law enforcement agencies engaged in the border management of Central Asian countries.

BOMCA 10 is enhancing customs control methods of the Uzbek Customs Administration

From 07 to 09 February, the Border Management Programme in Central Asia (BOMCA 10) held a national workshop in Tashkent on innovative principles and methods in risk management and green channels for national experts in the fields of development and implementation of risk management strategies and measures of the Customs Administration of Uzbekistan. Also, this event was attended by Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Latvia to Uzbekistan Mr. Reinis Troksa, Programme manager of EU Delegation to the Uzbekistan Alessandro Liamine, and first Deputy Chairman of Customs Committee under Ministry of Economy and Finance of Uzbekistan Mr. Ilkhom Mukhtarov.

EU-funded Program released Booklet on human right standards and vulnerable persons

Border Management Program in Central Asia (BOMCA 10) released the Booklet on human rights, gender, eliminating sexual harassment and gender sensitivity issues in the framework of workshops that have been held in Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan. They were conducted in the framework of Component 2, “Improvement of detection capacities”, aimed at supporting law enforcement agencies in evidence-based investigations, specifically dealing with the detection and investigation of cross-border crime.

EU-funded Programme continues improving cooperation on border crime analysis among agencies of CA countries

From 24 to 26 January, the Border Management Programme in Central Asia (BOMCA 10) held a workshop in Dushanbe for representatives of border guard and law enforcement agencies dealing with INTERPOL issues. The participants from the Ministry of Internal Affairs, Border Forces of the State Committee on National Security, Prosecutor General’s Office and Drug Control Agency, under the President of the Tajikistan, familiarized themselves with legal, procedural and technical solutions for cooperation with and the running of activities through INTERPOL.

BOMCA 10 enhanced technical capacities of the Food Security Committee on State Border and Transport of Tajikistan

On December 28 the Border Management Programme in Central Asia (BOMCA10) officially handed over the various assets to the Department of the Food Security Committee under the Government of Tajikistan on the State Border and Transport with the total value of these assets is 9,980 EUR.
