EU-funded Programme held a Regional workshop on establishing a framework of customs competencies

From June 13 to 15, the EU-funded Border Management Programme in Central Asia (BOMCA 10) held a Regional workshop in Astana for the heads and key employees of the Customs agencies of the Central Asian countries.

This Programme activity aimed to develop the methodological recommendations for creating a structure of customs competencies necessary for a systematic approach to advanced training of customs officers.

During the workshop participants presented and analysed the existing requirements for the system of training and advanced training of customs officers of the Central Asian countries. Also, experts from Lithuanian Customs and Riga Technical University familiarised them with EU experience.

As a result, methodological recommendations have been developed for creating a framework structure of customs competencies necessary for a systematic approach to training and advanced training of customs officers.
