From 27 to 30 September 2022, the Border Management Programme in Central Asia held training for representatives of local authorities coming from the several Tajik border regions working with the border areas population directly, as well as representatives of governmental authorities based in Dushanbe that implement regional policies in the areas of migration, economic development and gender.

BOMCA contributes to the digitalisation and optimisation of customs services in Kazakhstan and Tajikistan

From September 21 to 23 in Tajikistan and from September 26 to 28 in Kazakhstan BOMCA 10 held national workshop followed by technical assistance on the improvement of customs processes and e-services, related to electronic submission and processing of customs documents, as well as the development of a “single window” in Central Asian countries.

BOMCA 10 training of trainers course for dog handling instructors in Lithuania has been completed

On September 23, the Border Management Programme in Central Asia completed its training of trainers (ToT) course for dog handling instructors specializing in the search for explosives, ammunition, and weapons. This ToT was organized within the framework of BOMCA Programme’s Component 2, “Improvement of detection capacities to counter cross-border crime”.

Training of trainers on identification and profiling techniques held in Uzbekistan and Turkmenistan

From September 16 to 23 2022, the Border Management Programme in Central Asia (BOMCA) held a Training-of-Trainers (ToT) course on identification and profiling techniques in Tashkent and Ashgabat. The course was aimed at training national experts from the Border Guards, Ministries of Interior, Transport Police, and National Security Committees of both countries on identification and profiling techniques. Subsequently, these trainers will continue to transfer this knowledge within their respective national agencies.

BOMCA 10 assists the authorities of Kyrgyzstan in the effective application of the GSP+ scheme

From September 20 to 22, the Border Management Programme in Central Asia (BOMCA10) held a national workshop/technical assistance mission on trade promotion in the framework of the European Union’s Generalised Scheme of Preferences (GSP+) for representatives of the Ministry of Economy, Ministry of Agriculture, State Customs Service, National Investment Agency and other governmental agencies of Kyrgyzstan.

From September 20 to 22, the Border Management Programme in Central Asia (BOMCA10) held a workshop for representatives of border guard services and law enforcement institutions of Turkmenistan, investigators and crime intelligence officers, specialising in investigations of cross-border crimes in the field of trafficking of firearms, their parts, explosives, ammunition, currency and other goods.

Strategic risk analysis of the law enforcement agencies in Kazakhstan strengthened by EU expertise

From 20-22 September 2022, the Border Management Programme in Central Asia, in partnership with the Programme Office of the Organisation for Security and Co-operation in Europe, held a workshop in Astana on strategic risk analysis for the personnel of the Border service of national Security Committee, Ministry of Internal Affairs, Ministry of Finance and Ministry of Agriculture of Kazakhstan. The workshop aimed to familiarise participants with the principles and methodology of the Common Integrated Risk Analysis Model used in the European Union (EU) and provides information on a systematic approach to data collection and analysis.
