From 8 to 10 November, the Border Management Programme in Central Asia (BOMCA 10) organised a short-term traineeship in Latvia for representatives of academic staff of the customs training institution of Turkmenistan.
From November 8 to 10, the Border Management Programme in Central Asia (BOMCA10) held a national workshop/technical assistance mission on trade promotion within the framework of the European Union’s Generalised Scheme of Preferences (GSP+), for representatives of competent governmental authorities of Uzbekistan responsible for elaboration of guidelines, instructions etc. for competent authorities and economic operators in charge of the Registered Exporter System.
The Border Management Programme in Central Asia organised two workshops for female employees of the partner state agencies in the Republic of Uzbekistan in Tashkent (31 October – 1 November) and Bukhara (3 – 4 November). The workshops were designed to complement the previous activities held by BOMCA in Uzbekistan to offer support to female employees of the state agencies and local authorities in the border regions of Uzbekistan. The focus of the training is tailored on the performance of professional duties conditioned by gender. The unique BOMCA methodology in this domain is anchored by the women to women methodology, in which female trainers interact with female employees, thus ensuring a secure trustworthy environment.
From November 1 to 3, 2022, the Border Management Program in Central Asia (BOMCA 10) held a regional workshop with elements of training of trainers (ToT) methodology for the phytosanitary and veterinary agencies of Central Asian countries, involved in the implementation of World Organisation for Animal Health (OIE) standards in import/export controls.
From November 01-03, the Border Management Programme in Central Asia (BOMCA 10) held a national workshop in Ashgabat for experts of the State Border Service and State Customs Service of Turkmenistan, improving the K-9 service work and training system of Turkmen law enforcement agencies.
From October 25 to 27, the Border Management Programme in Central Asia (BOMCA 10) organised a technical assistance mission in the form of a meeting on analysis of the current customs legislation in the transit area, gathering experts from the European Union member states and Turkmen national experts in the development of a national transit declaration/control system.
From October 25 to 27 in Tashkent, Uzbekistan, the Border Management Program in Central Asia (BOMCA 10) held a regional workshop (technical assistance) on the elaboration of a handbook on profiling and identification at the 1st line border checks.
From October 18 to 20, the Border Management Programme in Central Asia held a regional workshop, focusing on elements of the Training of Trainer (ToT) methodology on the alignment of national legislation with the provisions of HACCP standards, FAO/WHO’s Codex Alimentarius/” Food Code” requirements, and preparation for the accession to and/or implementing those standards.
From October 18 to 20, 2022, the Border Management Programme in Central Asia (BOMCA 10) held a seminar on the Methodological development of the Fergana Valley migration study for the Kyrgyz state agencies dealing with migration-related matters.
