Executive Vice President of the European Commission introduced to BOMCA activities in Kyrgyzstan

On November 4, 2021, the Executive Vice President of the European Commission and European Commissioner for Trade H. E. Valdis Dombrovskis met with the Regional Manager of the Border Management Programme in Central Asia (BOMCA 10) Maris Domins during his official visit to the Kyrgyz Republic, and visited the Customs Training Center of the State Customs Service for the Kyrgyz Republic.

During the meeting, the representatives of the European Commission, European Union Delegation to the Kyrgyz Republic, and Ministry of Foreign Affairs for the Kyrgyz Republic were introduced to the achievements and impact of previous phases of the BOMCA Programme in Central Asia, particularly in Kyrgyzstan.  Participants also discussed the plans of the recently launched 10th phase of the BOMCA Programme. The Director of the Customs Training Center presented the center’s infrastructure, contribution of the BOMCA Programme in its development and expressed willingness for further cooperation.

In the framework of its previous phases, BOMCA invested resources in the infrastructure and equipment for the customs’ K9 training center to leverage and sustain the longstanding capacity-building efforts for service dog handling.
