  • Thematic Component: 4. Improvement of Cross-Border Cooperation
  • Country: Kazakhstan

On 8 July 2025, the EU-funded Border Management Programme in Central Asia (BOMCA 10) handed over digital learning equipment valued at EUR 42,728 to Secondary School №16 named after I.Panfilov, located in Turkestan region of Kazakhstan to support children living in border areas.

The school, which serves 1,280 students, received three interactive whiteboards and 28 high-performance all-in-one computers. This support addresses the critical shortage of functional digital equipment and supports the school’s efforts to meet national education standards for ICT instruction. Until now, the school operated with just 32 functional computers. With new provided equipment school will improve digital literacy, enable modern and effective teaching methods, and enhance the overall quality of education.

This support was provided under BOMCA 10’s Component 4, “Improvement of Cross-Border Cooperation”, aimed at improving living conditions in border areas through local economic development, with a focus on human rights, gender equality and vulnerable groups.
