On 31 July, in Dushanbe, the EU-funded Border Management Programme in Central Asia (BOMCA 10) handed over construction materials to the Border Troops of the State Committee for National Security (SCNS) of the Republic of Tajikistan, valued at EUR 19 550.
This support aims to facilitate the ongoing demarcation process along the Tajik-Kyrgyz border. The handover included essential materials and equipment such as cement, paint, welding and mixing machinery and various types of construction wire and rebar. This assistance follows a significant agreement on the state border signed between Tajikistan and the Kyrgyz Republic on 13 March 2025. The agreement is seen as a major milestone in strengthening security, stability, and sustainable development in the region.
The support was provided under Component 1 of the BOMCA 10 Programme, “Institutional Development of Border Control Agencies”, which aims to strengthen the institutional capacities of border agencies in Central Asia.
