On 31 July, EU-funded Border Management Programme in Central Asia (BOMCA 10) handed over modern IT equipment valued at EUR 18 737.20 to the State Customs Service of Turkmenistan.
The new equipment, including an interactive display, LED panels, desktop computers, monitors, a table microphone, 360-degree cameras and a video control set, will help create a modern digital learning environment and enable the delivery of remote training sessions for customs officers across the country. This support is built on an earlier activity carried out by the BOMCA Programme in April 2024, which aimed to develop and implement Distance Learning Concept for the Training Centre of the State Customs Service. The equipment was provided under the Programme’s Component 3 «Facilitation of Trade», which aims to further support the regional economic integration process through improvement of operational practices, training and skills of customs personnel and contributing to smoother customs regulations.
Moreover, BOMCA 10 Programme handed over visibility materials of Mobile Application of the State Customs Service of Turkmenistan valued at EUR 507.35. The application was developed within BOMCA 10’s Component 4, “Improvement of Cross-Border Cooperation”, aimed at improving living conditions in border areas through local economic development, with a focus on human rights, gender equality and vulnerable groups. These visibility materials, including six roll-up banners in three languages and luggage tags will support awareness-raising campaign promoting the mobile application.
