BOMCA 10 strengthens Tajikistan’s border security with enhanced surveillance equipment

  • Thematic Component: 1. Institutional Development of Border Control Agencies
  • Country: Tajikistan

On 6 August, in Dushanbe, the EU-funded Border Management Programme in Central Asia (BOMCA 10) handed over additional technical equipment  to the Border Troops of the State Committee for National Security (SCNS) of the Republic of Tajikistan, valued at EUR 13,824.50.

This support is aimed at enhancing surveillance infrastructure along the Tajik-Afghan border. The new equipment, including video recorders, high-resolution monitors, cameras, hard drives, outdoor-grade cables, automatic voltage stabilisers and other essential installation accessories will enhance the operational effectiveness of border protection by enabling the deployment of a robust, continuous and long-range visual surveillance system. The integrated system will provide a comprehensive, real-time visual overview of the border area, improving situational awareness and enabling faster, more informed decision-making.

The support was provided under Component 1 of the BOMCA 10 Programme, “Institutional Development of Border Control Agencies”, which aims to strengthen the institutional capacities of border agencies in Central Asia.
