BOMCA 10 keeps strengthening capacities of Kazakh investigators of cross-border crimes, such as smuggling of drugs and precursors

From 16 to 18 October, the Border Management Programme in Central Asia (BOMCA 10) jointly with the Central Asian Regional Information and Coordination Centre for Combating the Illicit Trafficking of Narcotic Drugs, Psychotropic Substances and their Precursors (CARICC), held a workshop in Almaty for investigators and crime intelligence officers specialising in investigations of cross-border crimes such as smuggling of drugs and precursors. The workshop enhanced the capacity and capabilities of law enforcement personnel of Kazakhstan in tackling drug smuggling and drug precursors.

During the workshop, the expert team from the Customs Criminal Service and the Precursors Control and Risk Assessment Division of the Drug, Tobacco and Alcohol Control Department, under the Government of Lithuania, introduced the EU good practices for drug control measures and investigation of organised cross-border crimes, related to smuggling of drugs and drug precursors.
