On 26 June, the EU-funded Border Management Programme in Central Asia (BOMCA 10) handed over technical equipment valued at EUR 19,400 to the Border Service Training center “Airport” in Astana.

A total of 18 computer sets and 1 interactive desk were provided to equip a classroom at Training Center. The new learning environment will support the training of border control officers stationed at airports, using the MOODLE distance and hybrid learning system. A pilot conducted in 2024, with the support of BOMCA 10, demonstrated the system’s effectiveness in enhancing engagement and improving training quality.

The new equipment was provided under BOMCA 10 Component 1 “Institutional Development of Border Control Agencies”, which focuses on strengthening the technical and institutional capacities of border control agencies to improve the quality of training.
