BOMCA announces Drawings Contest among school children of third-ninth grades (9-14 years old) in Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan, and Tajikistan

Duration: 16 May – 15 June 2016 

Objective

  • To encourage children to demonstrate  their talents and creativity
  • To facilitate the positive attitude of children towards people carrying duties at borders – border guards,  customs, phytosanitary and veterinary service officers
  • To show the professionalism and cooperation of people working at borders

Contest advertisement

  • The contest will be advertised through BOMCA web-site and FB page on May 15, 2016

Requirements to drawings submitted to the contest:

  • drawings should be painted in watercolors, gouache paints, soft-tip pens, or pencils on paper (size of paper should be 21 cm X 29,5cm minimum OR 29,5 cm X 42 cm)
  • on the reverse side the drawings should contain full name, surname, age, contact details (phone number, e-mail) written by pencil
  • the drawing should not be folded or damaged
  • not more than 3 drawings per person are allowed

Drawings submitted to the competition should contain following messages (drawings not containing the messages below will not be considered!!!):

  • message of a cross-border cooperation (communication of officials with colleagues across the border)
    or
  • order guards or customs, phytosanitary officers on duty, communicating with people crossing the border
    or
  • customs, border guards or phytosanitary officers, and their good deeds from a daily life

Drawings shall be submitted personally or by post to BOMCA offices in Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan not later than 17:00 15 June, 2016. When sent by post, post stamp should be dated no later than June 15, 2016.

By submitting drawings to this contest, participants transfer copyright for further use of drawings to BOMCA Programme. BOMCA programme has the right to use drawings collected within the frame of its activities and visibility without informing the author. Drawings submitted to the contest could be further used in BOMCA wall and table calendars for 2017 and other printed materials  within in further BOMCA activities 

Jury 

The jury will consist of:

  • Border services representatives of each country
  • EU delegation representative of each country
  • BOMCA National Coordinator
  • BOMCA regional Communications Officer

When needed, jury members could consult with their partners.

Winners and prizes

The jury will select 3 winners in each country:

Prizes in each country will include:

  • I Prize – tablet Samsung Galaxy Tab A 7.0 (2016) T285
  • II Prize – universal LEGO set 
  • III Prize – earphones 

Note: Jury has a right to grant an additional promotional prize

The drawings contest runs from 16 May 2016 to 15 June 2016. The winners will be selected until June 25 and the names announced on BOMCA webpage. Award ceremony will be organized in each country separately and the winners informed on it accordingly.
